Dear All,

Presently I have noticed that most A/V and Laptop Manufacturers are manufacturing their product with a glossy black finish which they claim as Piano Black Finish.

Its my personal preference but I find this glossy finish to be very cheap and mediocre and at the same time very easily scratchable..

I think these manufacturers should revert back their design to matte black like they did before.

Your input please..
Thanks.

Piano finish belongs to pianos. I agree. Always prefer matte myself include laptops and screens.

I suspect that it is just a name.

Pianos are made to last. There's no way I'd put my hot drink on someone's grand and expect to live, but I also think that paint, many layers, each more perfect than the last, and probably finished in clear varnish, might be quite tough.

Piano black. Yeah... like sky blue, or pillar-box red. Just names.

Especially dislike that finish on flat panel TVs. Distracting!

Couple that with a glossy screen and feel your retinas sizzle as you watch.
