Hey guys,

The sad time that always comes in an Indian audio enthusiast's life has arrived. The crappy power (despite a UPS) has taken its toll on my Pioneer Elite SC27 (Equivalent to LX82).

The issue seems to be with the power section of the receiver, according to the manual. Any recommendations or info on a good/affordable dealer or capable repairman?

Need phone numbers and addresses of delhi dealers/repairman fast... my unwatched movies list is growing fast!

Many thanks and much appreciate any advise/assistance you can offer...

Can you explain as to what actually happened also what is the current status of the AVR , I mean what happens when you press the power button? Does the display on the front panel comes n goes or does the AVR never turns on?

Unit switches on, display comes on for a second and then immediately the red light starts blinking (over MCACC).

Manual seems to indicate this is a problem with the power supply.

Any thoughts?

Cheers,
Varun

look varun , what i can make out from the symptoms is that the short circuit protection gets activated when ever you try to switch on the receiver, this means that the primary switching power supply is intact(the driver transformer) and it could be some part blown up fron the secondry or the main supply , do not try to switch on the receiver and you can take it to any good service person , one i know of is at shah put jaat area in south delhi . There is a slice of itlay outlet in shahpur jat area and when you cross this outlet and go ahead straight by 200mtrs then on your right there is a service shop you can check him out

one thing more b4 taking it to the service person just remove each and every single cable hdmi, audio video etc and also the power cable now leave the AVR for 10 mins and then push the power button for some time (power cable unplugged) now plug in just the power cable and then try switching it on, if the AVR behaves the same take it to the service person

remove speaker wires from the back of the avr and try again. Maybe some strands from speaker wires are touching the cabinet and shorting it.

For excellent sound that won't break the bank, the 5 Star Award Winning Wharfedale Diamond 12.1 Bookshelf Speakers is the one to consider!
