please advice on3D projector

Dear all, i want to buy a 3d projector for my small home
please advice me some 3d projector models costing upto Rs 40K.

3D projectors are not available in 40K. You get 3D ready projectors in 40K and they are not for your home use. The cheapest 3D projector available for home use is Epson TW 6100 cost approx 1 lac.I suggest dont go for 3D projector. Go for a WXGA resolution Projector with HDMI . You can go for Epson TW 480 .Its in ur budget and good for Home Theatre purpose

You can import the projectors from amazon.uk or amazon.com and it will come to like 60K max if using shipping of the above said sites.

Below are 720p full 3D projectors that i am also looking at.

I am no expert in projector and before buying my projector a week back - I too had similar questions.

Based on my research thanks to help from this and other forums/youtube videos:

There are typically three types of projectors:

(1) Only 2D projectors
(2) 3D ready projectors
(3) 3D projectors

whether one should go for 3D projector or not is a personal choice. arguments for 3d includes - better 3d affects than big flat panel TVs. arguments against include - limited legal content which are very costly unless one is into torrents big time, plus additional cost of glasses.

Difference between 3d ready and 3d projectors are that 3d ready ones dont play 3d out of the box - they need an intermediary (Nvidia kit or Optoma 3DXL or Monoprice or a HTPC that can output 120HZ) which costs 100-200 dollars plus of course glasses that cost around 40 dollars a pop.

ON the other hand 3d capable projectors are around 150-200 dollars costlier than 3d ready models and these play 3d out of the box - of course they too need the same glasses that cost 40 dollars a pop.

This is of course assuming you have a 3d blu ray player or a streamer or a laptop capable of playing 3d files.

Hence given all these arguments - if you are not so much into 3d - its way more cheaper to just get a 2d projector.

I got the Acer 5360 for 420 dollars plus had to spend 100 dollars for monoprice and 150 dollars for 4 glasses.

Regarding 720p vs 1080p - thats a personal choice. Most people in most normal situations cannot find out the difference between these two resolutions. I have a 720p 50 inch plasma and I can vouch for that.

watched some youtube videos regarding the same, it may be, i will be using a maximum 3 hours a week + some spoort finals, that comes arroximate 200 hours a year, kindly advice on the techincal aspects of this projector. thanks

firstly, you can get a 3d projector in your budget ( 40 k )
secondly alongwith the 3d option you can get WXGA resolution which gives great clarity.

now you can get these with the latest series of Egate projectors, specifically model no.s P512 & P442, these two are exceptionally good and are selling like hot cakes and well well within your budget.

while one has WXGA resolution , the other is SVGA, the contarst ratio and image size as well as the life of the product too is good since it is LED based.

Stay away from this, it's based upon Anaglyph 3d with red blue glasses. Theatres now days use Polarized 3d for comparison. Home Theater projectors use active shutter glasses.

I don't think there are any Polarized options for home use. Home Theater projectors are active shutter based as far as I have read.

Not sure of any options around 40k for 30k. You can check the Optoma and Benq mentioned by another member earlier. Also Acer K130 was another one mentioned in other threads.
