Hi,
I currently use a Marantz SR5007 AVR in a 5.1 setup with the additional 2 channels (7.2) used for biamping my fronts. The 5.0 set up is a Monitor Audio set up (with floor standers as fronts) and an Astonia sub making the 0.1
I had a few questions which kept nagging me hence I am asking for help:
- since the AVR supports preouts, does it make sense to add an external power amp for music. I have read elsewhere in the forum that a preout is already a preamped signal hence an integrated stereo amp should not be connected ideally.
- secondly when i use the AVR in pure/ source direct mode, is the effect of bi amping taken away? - is the additional circuitry shut down ?
- if I add a Norge power amp (INR 16k) for the fronts, can I place it close to the fronts and use a long (25 feet) RCA cable between the AVR and the amp rather than long speaker cables. My speaker cables are currently about 35 feet long each for Front- LCR. These are thick Stackfine cables (about 2mm).
- does adding a power amp improve listening experience significantly ?
- to listen to audio CDs I use the same HDMI cable which runs from my Panasonic Blu ray player to the AVR. By adding a digital cable, will things improve?
I guess thats plenty for now
Thanks in advance for the guidance.
