I would like to buy the following items

Television

Size : 40" LED TV
Budget : 45K to 55K
Preferred : Sony, Samsung and LG
Features need : Good picture quality, Full HD resolution and Digital/Optical Output

Few models that I have seen demos are.

LG : 42LN5710
Samsung : 40F5100
Sony: 40R452A

Sound System : 5.1 Home Theater.

Type : DVD/Bluray
Budget : 10K to 15K (I ready stretch max 3K).
Preferred : Sony and pls suggest if any other
Features need : USB Play, DTS sound, Digital/Optical Input&Output

Often will be using the DTH connection on TV. I heared from someone standard DTH wont provide the 5.1 surround system. So, there is no use of having the Digital/Optical output option in TV and 5.1.
Do I need to buy the DTH HD to get 5.1 surround effect ?.

Note: Am going to fit the 5 speakers on the Living room wall (Already have the wiring inside the Wall)

Look for Yamaha 196 HT. Should be around 20K, but has all features you need and more.

For 5.1 audio you need HD DTH box and only a few HD channels give 5.1 Dolby Digital. All SD channels are 2 channel. However your HT will convert the 2 channel audio to a virtual 5.1. Some HD boxes like Videocon supports Dolby Digital through both the HDMI and coaxial output.

@baijuxavior - Thanks for your suggestion.

I will look the Yamaha 196 HT demo and update here feedback.

baijuxavior: For 5.1 audio you need HD DTH box and only a few HD channels give 5.1 Dolby Digital.

Velu : Eventhough if i buy HD DTH, all channels doesn't support 5.1 Dolby Digital then there is no use. So,i prefer to go the SD DTH here.

baijuxavior: All SD channels are 2 channel. However your HT will convert the 2 channel audio to a virtual 5.1.

Velu : Does Yamaha 196 HT will have support to convert 2 Channel Audio to a Virtual 5.1 ?. For this do i need to have the Optical/Digital out from my TV and give Digital I/P to my HT (will convert 2 Channel to 5.1 ?

baijuxavior: Some HD boxes like Videocon supports Dolby Digital through both the HDMI and coaxial output.

Velu : OK. I prefer to go for the SD DTH.

All AVRs have virtual surround sound options like Dolby Prologic or DTS Neo6. when a 2 channel audio is received, it will be converted to virtual 5.1. Remember this is not true surround sound as in 5.1 channel Dolby Digital and DTS. I suggest you to go for HD box and subscribe to HD channels. SD channels in a large flat panel TV is not that great.

For excellent sound that won't break the bank, the 5 Star Award Winning Wharfedale Diamond 12.1 Bookshelf Speakers is the one to consider!
