Polk audio TSx and RTi Series

Hi guys,
Im planning to buy the polk speakers from US. Yes, on Amazon and New Egg it is very good price. Polk Center speaker TSX150C is available online for max 150 dollar (9000 Rs). I have some luggage allowance so, can chip this in. Same for book shelf also.

But, I need to buy corresponding timber matching polk towers, subwoofers from Bangalore. Im not sure if TSx series is available there . This seems to be different from the older TSi series speakers.

Can some body let me know, if it is worth buying speaker from here in US ? In snapdeal I see these center speakers listed for 20K+. I dont know the real price in the market.

I thought this is better than buying AV receiver , which may not work in India a well as may incur duties.

Polk's TSx range is available in India. They are also available online at Zansaar.com, so you can check the prices there.

Are these suitable for both Music and Movies or should I look at a different polk series/brand ?

Please advice, I want to start with basics and expand later.Planning to purchase pioneer 823K as the AVR (27k) and hoping it will go along polk. Im not sure..

Polk TSX150C is available for Rs.12000 here in india. You can even get another 1000 less on discount, so is it worth carrying it from US just to save 2000? Don't forget that you won't get warranty if you purchase it from US. for online purchase look into zansaar.com and for direct purchase look into profx.com.

I have not had the chance to listen to any of the new TSx range speakers, but I think they should be better as they have been launched as a replacement for the older TSi range.

I would suggest you to have a demo of speakers powered by an AV receiver which has power rating similar to the Pionner AVR you have chosen.

If your also looking at other brands then I would suggest you to browse the forums to get recommendations from older threads or post your query in a new thread with more details like the type of sound your looking for and your budget.

Good points I would say !! Also if your going for Polk speakers and if your from Bangalore then it makes even more sense to buy them locally - Polk's Indian distributor PROFX is based out of Bangalore, so service and support should be hassle free.
