Price for marantz CDp5004 ?

Hello friends

Does anyone know current price. I am currently in USA and this is for sale for $350. Good deal considering cost of adapter and no warranty ?

No way! Its pretty expensive. you will get in India at this price range without need for a power adaptor and with warranty!

For slightly more you will get CD6003. It has very good reviews than CD5004.

The price of Marantz CDP 5003 (older model of CD 5004) was Rs.9k plus at singapore during jan 2011. It is a very good VFM product. Though I have heard CD 6003 which has an optional USB input, CD 5003 is in no way inferior.

At one of the UK's biggest Hi-fi exhibitions Marantz is promoting CD5004 more than the CD6003.

My Yamaha CD Player has USB port but it can't detect any folders or track names. Suppose there are 3 folders with 7 tracks in each folder. It just shows 21 tracks and the access is slow. It's more convenient for me to write those tracks into a CD for more convenience and faster access.

An advantage with ipad is I heard its easy to bypass its internal DAC and can be used as a transport with a good external DAC with your Hi-fi. For better results you need the DAC with asynchronous USB connection.

Here is a post by Audiolab designer on PFM forum. Replace the CDQ with your DAC.
