Or any website which can ship this to India? I have tried sites such as Amazon.uk or Amazon.de and neither of them ship this product to India. Amazon US doesn't even list the product.

Abhishek from Audio Dynamics seems to be out of town for Puja so unable to get the India list price from him.

I guess you can try audioaffair.co.uk. My suggestion will be to go for Audiolab CDQ or MDAC.

I think exposure DAC is a phased out model.

Thanks
Venkat

Thanks Venkat. Yes, I have been struggling to figure out if the DAC is actually phased out or not as it is shown on the Exposure website but then certain sites in UK show it to be discontinued.

I have seriously explored the Audiolab 8200 cdp (not the cdq) but have not had a chance to listen to any Audiolab product. 8200 cdp is interesting as it allows me to use it as a CDP and then later use it as a DAC when I move my music to digital box. I hear it is very analytical but not sure how to decipher this phrase. Most of the stuff I have been exposed to is not what one tends to define as analytical.

Exposure 1010s2 cdp was nice to listen to and people quote it to be musical. 2010s2 DAC has its own idiosyncrasy which I discovered today. Apparently, its USB implementation allows it to read only 24/96 sampling rates and not "upto" 24/96. Which is now making me rethink as it implies usage of an upsampling engine down the line.

Anyway, any comments on the nature of Audiolab sound?

I think the exposure dac should be priced around 75k. From my direct communication with Tony of exposure UK, the dac is very much capable of handling all sample rates upto 24/96 but it's output will be fixed at 24/96. It is dual differential configuration dac.

The component quality of this dac it's on between the 3010 cdp and the 2010 cdp, so quite a good implementation.

Thanks Aashish. The 75k price you speak of is from India distributor or the GBP conversion?

Update - India price is 84k while I am being offered one at 75k from a Swiss retailer with shipment through a friend.

I am sure it must be the mrp and you might get a discount almost bridging the gap... should get from the local distributor. Exposure gives a nice three year warranty which could prove useful.

The Swiss price is a discounted price (CHF 1300 against 1390!) while India price is msrp. Hope to get a discount as it makes so much more sense to buy locally, as you mentioned. Not to mention, it adds to Indian financial recovery :)
