Hi Experts,

Facing a little problem here. My set up is

Denon 2310
WD TV live plus
Paradigm 60 speaker set
HSU V2 woofer
Oppo BDP 83

I am unable to get sound on some of the AVI files while picture is perfect. Sound is OK when played through VLC player on pc. Suprisingingly some other AVI files (smaller sizes) are working fine through denon/wdtv also.

I also recall that last week I got the audyssey set up done. However I am not sure if this problem has come after that.

Is there some other details in AVI file that needs to be seen to make sure it works.

Please help !!

Thanks a lot.

This might not be the issue with AVR but WDTV. Check the Audio Codec of your AVI file is AAC. If it is AAC its known issue with WDTV. Change the Audio Setting in WDTV to Stereo and play.
If you don't find the info. of the Codecs from your download site, install Mediainfo S/w and check.

Thanks
Satya.

As pointed out by idlebrain, the problem may be with your wdtv player. Try to convert the mp4 videos to mkv using mkvtoolnix. The latest version is 4.8.0. Sometimes you will need to use older versions like 3.0.0. The conversion takes just one minute or so on a decent laptop.
