guys my ps3 is 3.56 version is it possible to play games through jailbreak :sad: or someone know how to downgrade from 3.56 to 3.55

There is no way you can Jailbreak it now. In fact every new console in the market now is with 3.56 and all the loopholes already fixed.

If you wanted to do JB, you should have bought a used one, after ensuring that the FW version is less than 3.56

i wpouldnt recommend jailbreaking... you wont be able to play online then, which i recommend you try.

PS3 cannot be made region-free unless it is jailbroken. It is unfortunate, but it is region-locked unless Sony decides to make it region-free. I think it may be possible to do it with a future firmware update. But till Sony does it themselves, it will be region-locked.

one more thing, even if u jail break, u cannot play online games. To play online u have to update ur system softwares regularly. Jailbreaks with ps3 is not worth the efforts putin. Just buy the game and enjoy.

Yes you guys have to jailbreak and install custom firmware (I am using Kmeaw). The multiman loader currently comes with BD Region reset funtionality which can help you guys use any region disc on the PS3.

As per the new developments, sony is coming with the encryption right on the BD-drive which will make things even more difficult to hack.

And I'd like to tell that I dont really care about online gaming. In fact the games I play are not even multiplayer so no online stuff for me. For the DLC and all, I've resources I can make use of.

At one point in time I had like 24 games on my PS3 hard disc. Well above twice the cost of device itself. And with the linux support in the development, things look even more promising. Imagine running XBMC natively and your PS3 will turn into a powerful HTPC.

And BTW the MKV support is already in the works. Its currently working sanely, with little hiccups which will be creased out eventually.

I can't confirm this since i don't have a region 'A' only blu-ray. What i can confirm is that, with the latest CFW it plays both BD movies and DVDS (region free ones).

yes it can be made region free. Check psx-scene for multiman and you'll realize it is indeed working.

We can also buy used games from sites like www.gamestaq.com. I purchased sportschampion from there at around 12 usd and then shipped via aramex for another 10 usd. Still it is half the price of what it sells for here in India. Normal BD playback is region locked but games are not, so US bought games also work on Indian PS3 like the one I have.
