Hello Friends, I want a HD DTH for my 42" LCD.

People have mentioned that SD channels dont look good after watching HD channels.

Reliance BIG TV is providing all channels in HD like quality.

Hows the quality of SD channels in BIG TV as compared to other DTH providers?

Any BIG TV users here please reply.

It is true that after watching HD channels you won't like to see SD content. But you will get a fairly good PQ if you watch SD channels from a distance.

HD like and HD are different. Reliance claims to upscale SD content to HD, but in reality you won't notice much improvement in PQ. Remember 'Garbage in Garbage out'.

My suggestion - Get HD DTH that provides maximum number of HD channels. Watch SD channels from a distance only. For HD you can reduce the viewing distance.

Thanks Bro for this excellent advice.
I have gone through many forums, and found that Videocon D2H is good for PQ, and VFM packages with largest number of HD channels.
I think I will get a Videocon HD D2H.

Hey please let me know the Singnal quality you are getting on BIG i.e. %age and the BER value.

get tataasky or airtel or atleast videocon.....others no..
ts is best....real best...no false claim..DD via hdmi...

As far as SD channels picture quality is concerned, I would rate Reliance Big TV the best. They have their specialized upscaling center for SD channels. (It doesn't make any significant difference though). It could be Reliance's gimmick to fool around customers by claiming HD Like quality, but still SD channels look much better in BIG TV.
Tata Sky is still using MPEG-2 technology for SD channels, so there is no way it can be better than latest MPEG-4 DVB-S2 protocols used by Airtel, Reliance or Videocon.

However if we look for other factors such as HD channels, No. of popular channels etc.; No need to consider BIG TV.
