Re: Imax and Atmos Demo files

Hi,

Has anyone downloaded and seen Imax or Atmos demo on 5.1 system ?

I have both this demos wherein Imax is in mkv container and Atmos is in Bluray format, both are loaded in my Himedia900b which are much capable to play any of the current formats.

When i play Atmos i only get the video no sound comes in, so is there any specification to this (other 5.1/7.1 sources play properly)

When i play Imax demo, the video gets fast forwarded and then gets hung and media player gets rebooted after a while, not sure if file copy is the issue but have not tried recopying the same.

any advise here...

I think your AVR is not able to decode the signal sent by Himedia900b.

I guess so, when I checked the sound info for imax demo it shows 6 channel Vorbis and for atmos demo it shows 7.1 true hd, my AVR been old yamaha rx-450 it looks it doesn't support.

Time has come to upgrade ;-)
