I'm currently operating a 2.0 speaker setup after selling my Kef Q350 and Polk PSW10. My listening room is a 12x13 feet untreated living room. The system consists of a QA3050i speaker driven by a Marantz NR1200 amplifier in Pure Direct Mode, with a Wiim Pro streamer handling streaming and parametric EQ duties.

I'm looking to add a subwoofer to the system and have narrowed my options to the RELT5X and SV SB1000Pro after thorough research. Both are priced similarly at approximately 70K, with no significant cost advantage between them. Given that my listening preferences are primarily acoustic music and vocals, I'm uncertain which subwoofer would be the better match for my setup.

I would appreciate any guidance on this decision.

The Rel is the better choice here as it integrates better at higher sub frequencies like 60hz-90hz without sounding bloated or slow. There is more agility felt in the bass region. There is one caveat though, it doesn't have too much headroom for louder and harder hitting music like edm, house, rap and all. For the music choice you have the rel is the better choice.

You will only get subjective opinions based on experience - so here is mine. .

SVS can push out a serious amount of air and can be a bit hard to tame. However the app it comes with to control the sub is the best thing that has happened to subs in a long time. That makes life amazing. You do not know you needed that app till you have it.
***I also believe SVS is a bit more versatile, it can fit more applications better - ex - movies/gaming/music/types of music. But they are harder to gel in your system in general, needs a fair amount of work even after the app.

REL T5X won't be as impactful or versatile, but they seem to become one with speakers. So much so that I have replaced my HT woofer as well with REL. I also FEEL - purely subjective - RELs do better at lower volumes compared to other subs. Something I have only noticed with my studio subs, that they do not just die off when volume is low.
***(I do not use Speakon connector BTW, I can never make that subs sound good with speak-on)

So neither is a bad choice but in my experience you are getting more sub with SVS.
But you are getting seamless sound with REL - you never realise what they are doing till you switch them off - which in my books is brilliant.

It depends up on what you want from the sub. It it is just the extension to your speakers to the lower octaves and fill in the bass with speed and accuracy, then its rel T5x. if you want some impact out of your sub, then its svs. If you want more of rel and a bit of svs then you can go with Rel T7x. After all it is an 8 inch speaker. I am satisfied with T5x but at times i want some drama and power that the T5x cannot provide and wished I settled with T7x.
