Normal Pickering, the man who improved record playback (amongst many other stellar achievements) has passed away at 99. He introduced the use of diamond and sapphire as cartridge stylus material. He was a professional musician, one of the founders of AES, was a past president of Violin Association of America, invented an eye diagnostic method using ultra sound, invented method of vibration control used in Boeing 747 aircrafts, designed horns widely used by professional musicians.

people who contribute to science and research or are artists and example setters or bring joy to the earth ( and their numbers are few and getting fewer ) ... their passing is always a genuine loss .

RIP sir

For excellent sound that won't break the bank, the 5 Star Award Winning Wharfedale Diamond 12.1 Bookshelf Speakers is the one to consider!
