Hi Forum,

I am planning to buy a LCD TV and looking at these three models.

LE32B450 gets the best ratings on many review sites, however looking at the specs, it does not look the best. The LGs for example have a much better motion response time, contrast and brightness.

I am really confused which to go for, so any first hand experiences would be welcome.

Regards

The samsung model would be LA32B450. It is HD ready as opposed to Full HD. Samsung uses VA panels which give deeper blacks and higher contrast ratios than any other panel. However VA panels are plagued by relatively slow response times. So what Samsung have done to compensate for this is to implement a technology called pixel overdrive which results in faster response times. The downside is the prevalence of some input lag which may or may not be a problem for you depending on how finicky you are.
LG on the other hand uses S-IPS panels. IPS panels are reputed for their greater viewing angles, and better colour reproduction, and typically have better response times than VA panels. But their black levels cannot be as deep as the blacks produced by VA panels.
Best thing is to go and personally demo each of the sets and do a side by side comparision if possible. Each has its own strengths and weaknesses, so ultimately it boils down to your personal preference.

P.S. LG service network is really good. Not sure about Samsung......

Sir why u are bothered about all these technical details like lag, shag, et al? :) If the TV fits within your budget just do a demo and buy it. Even if it does have lag it should not affect you to the point where you will give up playing games on your TV. If you are consciously looking to see if there is a lag effect then perhaps you will notice it, otherwise just ignore it. Remember all these criticisms are given by expert reviewers who are actually looking for weaknesses in the product. To average aam jaanta consumers like you and me it should not be such a big deal. Also these people do comparative reviews, testing any TV against a particular flagship model which will be as close to perfect as the current technology will allow. Less than eight years ago you would be hard pressed to find an LCD TV with a response time of less than 16ms. At that time the reviewers would say about a TV with 8 ms that it was perfect, no ghosting, etc. It is only now when there are TVs with less than 4 ms response time that the bar has suddenly gone up?
:)

Dil ki awaaz suno.... if you like it buy it
