Hello

Last week i bought Samsung LED UA40D5500 - smart TV from Dubai,

After bringing to India, i came to know that the AV Component Adapter is missing in the package.

You will find below the picture (sticker) of the AV Component cable/ adapter on the rear side of the TV.

Can anyone suggest, where can i find these AV Component adapters in Chennai India, bcoz i have searched for the same in the local electronics shop with no sucess.

Why don't you use HDMI instead?

At the moment i use a Cable Set-topbox from SCV (Sumangali Cable vision from SUN Network), which has got only AV output, would like to use that untill i shift to my house which is under construction and then install a HD connection from Tata sky or reliance

Check whether such an adapter is available on eBay. Use "composite AV" till that time.

It will be very difficult to find this adapter in open market as it is a proprietary Samsung adapter. You will need to contact Samsung Service Centre for this.

Will it be possible to use AV to HDMI cable

Will this work, i-e Taking out from Set-top box in AV cable and give input in HDMI to my LED TV

If I understand correctly, probably you are talking about a AV to HDMI converter.
Try in Richie street.

I do not think that AV to HDMI converters exist, but I could be wrong. I will not recomend this anyway.

Why not use composite AV till you shift and set the HT properly?

They exist. Im not sure if they are available here. But you could check monoprice.com (US based) or google it.

As you said, better option is to go with composite AV. This said converter may either costly or less availability.

Even if they exist, I am 100% confident that they do not bring any advantage - at least not composite to HDMI.

As everyone speak about using "Composite AV" , there is no option to connect the same in TV, Please look at the pictures attached in my earlier mail. The Only inputs available are HDMI, USB & PC - DVI, PC IN & ANT IN

Correct me if i'am wrong

The Green and Yellow one are combined in one, so you can connect composite video input to the yellow one; However you can only use either the composite or component, one at a time, in this particular model.

Hi . yestarday i buyed samsung 5500 model led tv. i tried to connect to my samsug dvd player by using three av connector ( Yellow,red and white ports) to the av connector supplied with tv. but it is not coming. can any body suggest. one more thing i tried to connect to my sun dth receiver . it is not HD receiver. is it possible to connect . if so how ?

1. The Yellow-White-Red connection is known as "Composite AV". If you have used this connection, then check the port name on the TV - whether it is Video 1, Video 2, etc. From the menu, select the appropriate AV source.

2. Yes. You can connect the Sun DTH STB. You can connect it the same way as your DVD player - use the composite AV cable with the Yellow-White-Red terminals. Or you could use the RF-out also. Select the proper source for the menu.
