Hello friends...

Please help me out for selecting an audio system for santro at a reasonable price of 25k.(Both head unit and speaker system)...

Will upgrade it again after few months for 10-15k...

So plz suggest me a right way 2 go...
Thanks in advance..

would suggest an alpine/kenwood head unit , with your choice of speakers.
Are you willing to modify your doors to fit bigger speakers ( not really essential)

Like GH has suggested go for Kenwood or Alpine or Pioneer (if you like
a little bass). Spend about 10 - 15 k on the HU. You should be able to
get a decent HU in this range. Spend the next 5 - 7 k on the front
components. JBL, Illusion, have good components in this price range.
Keep the remaining 5 - 3 k and add it up to the 10 - 15k that you are
willing to spend later. When you have sufficient funds go for a 4 channel
amp and a sub. Use 2 channels for the front components and bridge
the remaining 2 to use with the sub.

Most new range 2010 Kenwood series are announced under 10k sometime back.... with BT / USB features... Alpine is also great but expensive. See if you can source one with in 10 - 15 k budget .. As siva said spend 5-7 on components choose them by your music preference..Unfortunately not much places offer you audition on car speakers.. But you can listen to the speakers of any friends or known people @ your work... You may get an idea...

Later buy a 4 channel amp and add a sub in rear you are all set for a musical journey...

If you will not have rear passengers all the time, best to allocate that budget
for better HU/fronts/AMP/sub. Only if you are chauffer driven or if you have
rear passengers, it makes sense for rears.

If you have good/powerful front components, you can have the soundstage
right on top of your dash (maybe with little help from HU) and from the front
2 seats you might never feel the absence of rear speakers at all.

The split of budget I gave above is to get you the best possible budget
components in your budget. So if you are particular about having rears
also, I would recommend having components for rear also (though most
often people recommend going for cheap co-axials. I had some very
good co-axials as rears but often found them overpowering the fronts
and/or sounding too bright and spoiling the sound stage hence I went for rear
components also).

So in your budget,
1) About 10 - 12 for HU
2) 5 + 5 for front and rear components.
3) spend about 1 - 2 on good cables/wires etc.

Save the ~ 2 for now. Add the 15 k later.

1) spend 10 - 12 on good powerful AMP
2) spend the remaining on a good sub with enclosure.

The prices above are indicative, so little less or more should
be fine.

If you are looking for sound quality rather than features in the Headunit. Then you will get a decent system for 5-7k with USB.(high end model in head unit will have only fancy features.. blue tooth and other color LED display features.. it will have same sound quality as the basic model.. only operating unit might be little easier than basic model. It will cost you more 5k than basic model). And even though some models have more watts than basic model its only minor difference and thats not sufficient to drive component speakers. So you have to add AMP seperately.

Go for 4 channel AMP - will cost you around 5-7 k. (with mininmum 50-60w rms per channel)
Remaining - 11 k you can get a very good component speakers(back and front components or front components and SUB). Since santro is a small car SUB maynot be required unless you require powerful bass. Sometimes it might be boomy in a small cars.
Component speakers with AMP will give you bright sound with sufficient bass.

Thank u guys...

I am planning to put a head unit, 2 front speakers and an amplifier for now. Later I'll put two rear speakers along with the sub woofer.

As I dont have any idea about what to choose, can u please provide some information about which brand and model should I choose along with their approx price list.(budget 25k). If it is not possible to have a good combination (hu, front speakers, amplifier) within 25k then I'll postpone the amplifier too.

Thanks in advance... Waiting for ur most valuable advice...

I totally agree with shivakuru. As for the sub, you can install it in the spare wheel well. No need for enclosures. I have a Santro and have done the same. Can post pics if interested.

Here is another one i found in net.. With woofers installed on side of boot space.

Many Many Thanks for the pics friend...
Got a very good idea abt d positions..

But I'll try to put the rear speakers in the original position itself...
and won't be installing a woofer as it will cut my boot space...
will ask the guy if he can manage to put the ampli below the rear seat or somewhere but not in boot...

Again lots of thanksss....:):):)

Get the amp installed below the front passenger seat...

But Sir,
Car is not Santro and the wheel well installation is the most practical and cheapest. No fancy fiberglass enclosures required.
Yeah.. I just put this pic just for reference. The woofer may be also installed in the side of boot space in santro. Only problem in wheel well intallation is you may not be able to use the boot space for luggage compleletely. Speakers might break if you put too much weight on it.If you are not going to use the boot space for luggage then this is definitely a good setup.

And the fancy fiber glass may not be required..you may get the cheap enclosures.
