Shipping Speakers Courier suggestions...

Hi,

I need to ship the speakers across the states. I checked with DTDC guys and a one of the local courier guy and was told that they don't do electronics. What is the preferred courier service to ship speakers and stuff, any suggestions or ideas?

Hi,

Moving speakers through couriers is risky as some of them have limited logistics and hence sub contract further.....

If the speakers are valuable or expensive, you may want to check with professional movers and packers who will ensure thermocol or bubble wrap packing with styloform and possibly custom cartons or crates ...ofcourse there will be a good charge for it....

Evaluate the costs......see if it makes sense...else if not that far...perhaps a road trip with a decent SUV or mid size car and drive down yourself....so you know for sure that you have the speakers intact......if the moving or courier cost is equivalent to the speakers or more....rather sell these and buy new ones in the new place.....

Try transport companies like VRL. That's how most dealers ship speakers to customers. But ensure bullet proof packing - they may get thrown around

OK, called up BlueDart just now. I was told that they can ship the speakers!

I've had my speakers shipped three times by Gati. No issues. That's a reasonable amount of fingernail biting, but the F-U-D was entirely unecessary. Costs are entirely reasonable. Much less than a car trip. And my F/S will not fit in my car

Blue Dart would be expensive. Try TCI. My speakers came by TCI XPS from Kochi and they are big.

Are they your Rethm Saadhanas? What was the size and weight of the package? How much did it cost?

Yes, the Saadhanas. Sent by surface transport. Took a whole two weeks to reach me.
Charge Rs 4,000. Actual weight 120 Kg. Volumetric weight charged for 300 kg.
You could expect to pay more as I suppose manufacturers & dealers would be getting discounts.
