Hi,
My brother of recently purchsed a Onkyo AVR R-590 as a part of his ONKYO HOME THEATRE SYSTEM HTS-5600. The display panel of the AVR shows the HDMI selection in bold letters as BD/DVD, VCR/DVR, GAME, SAT/CABLE whichever selected. When we play the DTS-enabled Blu ray/DVD the DTS monogram is illuminated in red colour that too in a very small font. The main big display shows 'BDP/DVD'.
As we see in other AVR's such as Denon, Yamaha the display of 'STEREO' or 'DOLBY DIGITAL' or 'PCM' or 'DTS' is displayed in a big font on the display panel. But I found this display in Onkyo missing, we have to strain our eyes to see whether the dts logo is lit or not, and to make the matters worse the Dolby digital sign too is displayed symbolically in the same red colour using the same font.
Is there any other display setting due to which we can change the mode of display? Please let me know.
P.S. There is a button on the remote as "DISPLAY", which when we press, dispays 'DOLBY DIGITAL', 'STEREO' 'DTS' in a bigger font on the display panel of the AVR but it sustains for only 3 seconds, and then again reverts to 'BD/DVD' mode.
