Hi all

I need to transport (by air) a 5.1 system. The only problem is that I have lost the original box and packing. I don't want anything to get damaged in transit. Are there any special precautions I should take? Like maybe a certain way to pack them or use of bubble wrap??

TIA

I had sold my Wharfedale Diamond 8.2 speakers to a forum member. Apart from the original packing, i had put the original box in a wooden crate and added foam in between. Spending some 500 bucks extra ensures the package can withstand a lot of abuse

In my particular case I do not have the original packing. But I will not be sending it by transport. I will be carrying it with me when I travel by air. So the only abuse it will face is during handling by the ground crew. So I need to know what can be done to prevent damage.

Loads of bubble wrap should take the beating!

Buy a 5 ply or a 7 ply corrugated box from a raddiwalah which can fit all speakers.
Fill the empty gaps with paper so nothing moves. Then bubble wrap. For more safety I add foam (used to make sofas) mainly in top and bottom so shock is absorbed to an extent just incase the parcel is thrown around

A beautiful, well-constructed speaker with class-leading soundstage, imaging and bass that is fast, deep, and precise.
