Speaker Positioning, in a listening room is very critical. Wrong positioning or placement can have have incorrect results in efficient reproduction of the desired frequencies. Let's start with sub-woofer placement. This is why because it would be easy to understand the effects starting from lower octaves. The same principal applies for the middle and upper ranges but with different calibrated inputs as to the frequency ranges.
Let me state this in very simple language, most of the FM are always confused in big tech talks and shy away from the topic which they cannot gulp or digest. In every listening area you have a desired sitting area, where you find that sweet spot to be your favorite. Lets start from the sub. Assume you have a 2.1 set up. You have your L & R positioned wide apart at desired ear level. and the sub in between or in one corner or beside the L or beside the R or facing back wards, or front, or sideways or opposite ???????. Which way's ?????. Are you getting the optimum spl & efficiency of that sub in your room ?. I would like the FM state their opinion on this so that I can take my views in progress towards the positive direction.
