Hi Experts,

I am in process of setting up my first Home theater system. i need help in choosing speakers.

I have got a 42inch sony bravia TV and Denon 1612 receiver. i am looking for nice 5.1 speaker system within 15k max. is there something which anyone would recommend?

I am from Chennai and iam ok with Second hand good speakers even. but i dont know any please.

help will be really appreciated.

Within 15K, you can consider JBL 140. JBL SCS 140BK

Hi Experts,

Is it possible to get floor standing speaker set (5.1) inside 15 to 20k in Chennai?

Is there any shop in Chennai where i can get good SECOND HAND floor standing speakers (if new Floor standing speakers will not come under 20k max- i need a 5.1 system).

HI Experts,

Can i connect a LG or SAMSUNG Home Theater speakers to Other Receivers like Denon,Yamaha?

Do they have specific wire sockets which prevents them to do it?
I know Sony speaker wires are different and they can only be connected with Sony Receiver or Home theater.

or in other words..can i replace the LG and SAMSUNG speaker wires my 12Gauge Monster wire?

DO let me know. i am getting nice LG and SAMSUNG HT within 20k. i am thinking of Using the speakers with my Denon Receiver IS IT POSSIBLE?. comments are appreciated.

You need to check the impedance rating of the speakers.

Denon AVR-1612 is a nice AVR, matching it with LG and samsung HT speakers does not do any justice to the AVR. If u are planning to buy the LG and samsung HT speakers for this cause, would suggest to refrain from the same.

Hmm..point taken...! i am getting a denon 1612 while i am returning from singapore its only 550sgd (22k) + i will get 7% GST return even.

i better wait--save money and get good speakers instead of hurrying up...

PS: for people who like know Samsung and LG speakers comes with 3ohms impedance and the higer most end one was with 4ohms impedence.

Now do not use any speakers with less than 6 ohm impedence with any AV receiver. those speakers eiterh will distort or breakout...
