Hi all..I have a Samsung 5500 plasma..

I have been using it since August..

The previous plasma I had was broke in with a cable connection and later I switched to a stb..so I didn't have image retention issues..

The current TV was also under a good break in period..

But I still have image retention of the Airtel logo and star world HD and star movies HD overlapping.. I have been trying to use the break in slides as long as possible and frequently... But I'm still irritated and I keep checking often..

My wife thinks I have lost it since if there's a white screen I go closer and try different angles to locate the damn Airtel logo...

So the question.. Is there a fix?

Why do operators force their logo on us.. Can I pay any extra money to not have it?

Is there a software hack?

Is there another way around it?

Please give your inputs

Thanks

Simple, you would have the option of pixel shift, turn that on and keep it on the lowest setting. so that it would keep turning on and off and IR should not happen.

In my tv there is a setting of 5 minutes and i have it on.

Now a day's provider are using transparent logo which does not cause that much problem. Yes channel logo cause problem even in my case. I am running Plasma Burn in DVD on periodical basis.

Hi,

I also have samsung f5500 plasma since 04-nov.

I have videocon dth, so for past 1 month i had kept picture size to zoom to take logo out of the screen.

last 2 days I have set picture size to 16:9 and have not noticed any image retention so far.

Also in videocon when we change channels the logo gets hidden behind channel info. graphics.

I have not run any slides or any other break in options.
Just kept contrast at 25, brightness at 10, cell light at 8.
Will keep this setting atleast for 1 more month, then increase contrast.

Do you see logo IR from your setting position or only when you go near TV?

I put TV in TV mode and run the blinking dots for a few minutes once in a while.

Mild channel logo IR is inevitable if you watch the same channel for long, every day. If you can see channel logo while watching something else, then it is a problem. I've never faced that as yet. You don't have to go close to TV everyday to look for it. I used to do that when I got the TV. Now I rarely check.
