Came across some interesting pictures of the 1st jazz yatra held in "bombay" 1978.
DAVID CRIGGER - Don Ellis - Live In India
Check out the dynaco stage monitors.

Someone called The Don Ellis Orchestra (had never heard of him before) had performed and one of his band members has restored/remastered unreleased tapes of the Jazz Yatra performance.

There are also some interesting pictures of the Bacchan Parivar at the venue.

Here is a link to their Montreux Jazz festival (1977) Don Ellis 1977 (01) Open Wide - YouTube.

Seems like my kind of music:)

Actually there were around 7 days of continuous concerts every evening, and each day had 3-4 bands. I was very surprised to see and listen to high class musicians from Europe-till then I always assumed that jazz-or at least good jazz came ONLY from the US!! My eyes and ears have opened up since then..Remember it was over 25 years ago, so regretfully I can't recall the names.

Some of the bands that performed in a single performance on other occasions in Bangalore remain etched in my memory-like Herbie Mann and Dizzy Gillespie.

A beautiful, well-constructed speaker with class-leading soundstage, imaging and bass that is fast, deep, and precise.
