An interesting and humorous article …well, maybe not so humorous

Very Nice read..although from 2017, nothing has really changed and perhaps the jokes on us but must say the Author of this piece , if not an audiophile, has definitely met one :)

I too felt it was an insider view. How else does he know so many secrets? 😊

loved this "There is no "absolute sound"—just pleasing illusions that are an aural simile of the original experience, created by the mind, heart, and skill of the performers (and the recording engineers), realized in our homes by our carefully curated audio equipment. The "truth" of the illusion is in how it makes us feel. That's our reality, and it's what we audiophiles love"

BTW I thought the Left/Right brain "specialisations" have been debunked and is now more of metaphorical that the left is Logic/fact and right is creative/artistic side of the brain ?

Anatomically there are two hemispheres in the human brain and it was the belief that they each were functionally distinct and specific; hence the right and left brain thesis.
Modern functional magnetic resonance imaging while engaged in tasks or experiences reveal that in all these a number of areas of the brain are involved (“light up”) The current understanding is that while there may be primary areas involved in receipt of sensory inputs, the processing, analysis and evoking emotional, intellectual and motor responses are done in conjunction or by other parts (other hemisphere, mid brain, frontal cortex etc) The wiring is incredibly complex and the past beliefs are a bit simplistic in the light of what is known. But the brain does have areas which are specialised anatomically and functionally
Here is an interesting explanation in case anyone wants a deeper dive
