I was meeting up with an old schoolmate now with the ITU(International Telecommunications Union) in Geneva and he told me about a new technology that he saw demonstrated by a Japanese company, using an 84 inch screen. Ultra HD TV, using 22.2 channels of audio. His division is responsible for setting standards for all kinds of media.

I used to think that 7.1 is overkill, and this is obviously along way away, maybe after our lifetime? This standard is a replacement for 3D as we know it since 3D has various limitations.

Might be Ultra HD is next level after HD.

Year after year the screen size is increasing, just 4yrs back we saw the 32" LCD which was very big in size and today 42" looks smaller.

After 5yrs we may experience TVs more than 100" where our HD channels may not look good, so then comes the UltraHD.

Today we all are runing behind three things -
HD - 3D - 3G
