Hi
At my navive place there is no radio reception, I am planning to use set top box to wantch TV and to listen radio channels. I am planing to use RCA splitter, So From STB one goes to TV audio and another to multimedia speaker.

When I want to listen radio, I would use RCA connected to multimedia speakers and to watch TV normal TV audio would be used

Want to know are there any technical / safety issues? I think I have to comprise gain as current get divided. Also when I am watching TV, signal would also goto speaker (which would off) and vise-versa. Would it cause any damage to TV / STB / speaker? Any precautions suggested?

I assume that an STB spits out a consumer line-level signal. There will be a very small (almost inaudible) drop in levels. Considering that the output is being amplified at the other end, by your speakers and the TV, respectively, you should face no problems. Buy a branded splitter from a reputable seller. Should cost around Rs. 200 or so.

Actually I should have added that I have used RCA splitters for many years to split line level signal to power amp and sub amp, and I have never had a problem with safety, gain, quality or anything else. I continue to do it even now.

I use several of these (RCA splitters) to connect the audio output from my STB/BD Player to TV/HT and never faced any issues.
