I am on a lookout for good tried and tested active speakers to be connected with Asus Xonar DX. Don't suggest the AVR route, won't go that way at all.
Thanks.
Thanks.

S550 is better than Z5500. I don't wanna spend that much. I guess I will stick with current set.Logitech Z-5500 is the best system. Earlier I was using it with PC, now using it with Samsung 40"LED with toslink (optical out). Now discoutinued, however grab it if available somewhere. The sound quality is amazing & bass is room shattering. IMO SQ is not less than any AVR in this price range.

I bought the Edifier DA 5000 Pro and selling it already. ThanksI know its an old thread but I just saw it.
There are two options that you can take if not S550 (But I think that this is the best option)
1) Add Edifier C3 to your mix. Benefits:
- It will become a 7 channel system (use Xonar DX's Dolby ProLogix )
- Great Bass with two 8" subs
- Music Listening in higher quality with only C3 turned on (connect this to green front out)
I have tried this combo for many days personally. Very good and interesting hack!
2) Buy Edifier C6. The sound quality is that of C3 for all channels + Better amplifier. Affordable too (<15k)
Enjoy!
