Videocon D2H HD No 5.1 Sound

Use any ordinary RCA cable. No need to go for expensive cables. You can use the RCA cable already bundled with the stb box.

You can use the yellow, red or white cable. I actually am using the yellow cable of the so called AV chord.

Use the digital coaxial out or hdmi of the stb. Both will give 5.1 sound in select hd channels. Audio quality is the same.

hey guys,

my harmony 700 wont work with the new 2222 white box as it is RF. i have connected digital out to avr and hdmi to tv.

i currently have to change channels via the d2h remote and the volume through the avr. this is defeating the entire purpose of having a Universal Remote.

If i connect the audio via stereo to the avr then i guess i can change volume and channels both via the d2h remote.

but how much will be the loss in sound quality between routing the sound from the d2h to avr via digital vs. stereo ?

thanks.

There are 2 hd stb these days?

White 2222 and sdhd 555

Both having Dolby sound via hdmi cable?

Anybody know?

In the Black STB 555 it should be there. As i have it connected both through RCA and HDMI. Also there is a setting available where you can select 2 channel sound or Dolby. Once you select Dolby the output goes through HDMI cable and RCA does not give any signal.

Switched from Tata Sky to D2H and I have got STB 2233, and even my Harmony is not working with it.

Harmony is IR and DTH remote is RF won't work. But look at the good part rf is omni directional, so will work from anywhere in the room and you do not need to point the remote towards the set top box. I am really enjoying the RF experience, also comes in handy for those who have the set top box where there is no clear line of sight for IR remote to work.

You will get used to it over time .

Btw, anyone still faces problem of no 5.1 Sound? My reciever does not recognise the signal and has no sound when I select DD Surround Sound on the STB. Connected through HDMI.

We were discussing the latest models and not the older ones. Currently all the new HD models are coming with RF remotes. Also yesterday i got some update on the STB, it downloaded something, post installation the STB rebooted and started.
