I am looking out for info from guys who have a videocon D2H. Does it have surround sound? Do share your experience with D2H.

I have read so many conflicting threads on this 5.1 sound for HD channels (not sports).

It's not 5.1 but its decent though not powerful. It's PCM audio and my Yamaha amplifier converts the 2.1 to 5.1 but that's not good enough if tata sky is offering the same in 5.1. I even tried using a optical digital audio cable but that slightly improved the overall sound quality but not 5.1. Colors and Star Plus HD have much more powerful sound as compared to all other channels. I have heard Pix would be in HD from Jan 1st. For watching I still prefer blu ray rips connected to my wd player. HD movies channels do not offer such superieor sound.

A lot of the content on channels like Star Plus, Zee TV, etc. isn't openly available elsewhere. Thus, you can't really compare their quality to a Blu-Ray and claim it's a plausible alternative.

The only alternative to HD Hindi channels are SD Hindi channels, and those are an obvious downgrade. Even if they're only 2.1 CH Sound, it's better than viewing the content in SD, innit?

A beautiful, well-constructed speaker with class-leading soundstage, imaging and bass that is fast, deep, and precise.
