Videocon HD STb Strange volume problem

Hello guys purchased a new videocon HD stb and have some strange issues:

1.Can't increase or decrease the volume but on screen the volume bar is going up and down while is press the button.

2.The remote control Lags too much while switching channels or menu or switching anything sometimes i have to pree the button repeteadly to switch to anything.

Is this normal with the STB or something wrong technically should i call the customer care ask for STB replacement

I have connected my LED through HDMI and sound through S/PDIF to my home theater..

Help guys getting really frustrated..

The volume control issue may be due to using SPDIF out. The STB will just bypass ac3 audio signal untouched.

That means volume can't be controlled by STB remote..?

There is certainly a lag in switching channels like it can take upto 2-3 secs..I am also using the DTH. Please get in touch with CC for checking with another remote.

For audio problem it may be coz of the issue that baiju suggested.

I've been using Videocon HD, there is a noticeable lag while switching between menu and channels.

I am too facing this problem , when connected to Home theater via S/PDIF out . One solution is to mute the tv volume completely and use the Videocons universal remote to recognize the volume + an - buttons of your home theater remote . Instruction of how to achive this is in the d2h manual .
