Hi,

I was using the wdtv live player with my crt tv attached through an non-hdmi AVR.
The connections were: optical cable from wd to AVR. video cord from wd to TV, and RCA (red+while) cords from wd to TV for audio from TV.

I have just purchased a samsung led tv which has hdmi ports. Now how do I connect my wd > avr >led tv. I am still using the non-hdmi AVR. I am thinking of connecting it in the following way: hdmi from wd to hdmi tv port. Optical cable from wd to AVR, and RCA (red+white) from WD to TV for audio from TV. Won't the hdmi cable from wd to tv take care of the audio as well as video part, if it does so I won't have to attach the RCA's (r+w) from wd to the TV.

Correct me if my connections are going the wrong way. Or a better way to be connected. Want to avoid the mess of cords behind the A/v rack.

With regards

__ JAYANT.
