Hello FMs,

I'm getting a good deal on both of these products from two different dealers (wharfie from a friend and elac from an actual dealer) now it's up to me to choose between these two. Which one would you go for?

I'm getting both of these at the same price point, except that wharfedale is opened and slightly used (3-4 months according to him) and elac is brand new unopened.

I'm planning to power it with Denon x1800H, hope that will not be an issue. (I do not want to go with a stereo or any integrated amp as I'm planning for an upgrade path in the future)

Cheers!

Thanks man, yeah saw this thread. OP was leaning towards QAcoustics which is not in my shortlisted speakers. However, I also saw that he bought Pure Acoustics HT-800 recently. Not sure if he bought this instead of QAcoustics or if these are additional speakers. But from what I could gather, avr x1800h should be comfortable enough to drive these speakers. Let' see.

I would go for the wharfedale because it has more bass. 😄 but even otherwise, its a fine sounding speaker and if you're getting it at the same price point as the entry level Elacs, its a sweet deal.
