Hey guys,

Disclaimer: Total noob.

I need the following for a set of two home assembled speakers + an Onkyo A 9310 amp.

1. Speaker wires

2. Cable to connect my phone/laptop to the amp and play music. What is this called? AV cable? Do these come gold tipped or something?

God, I must sound like an idiot.

I might scale up my speakers in the near future, so would prefer the best wires right now and just change up the speakers later.

How much do these things cost and where can I buy them from in Bangalore?

1. DAC cables available from hifimart.com are very good speaker cables.
2. You will need a cable with 3.5mm pin on one side and two RCA pins on the other end. Belkin is a good brand.

Thanks!

1. Do I get the optical ones or the coaxials? I know i could just google them...

2. Anything better than Belkin? this doesn't seem to be available on hifimart.com though...

1. Speaker wires are not optical or coaxial. Optical and coaxial cables are used for digital connection only. The DAC cables are OFC (oxygen free copper) cables.

2. There are other brands like profigold, bandridge etc. Belkin is available in ebay.

Is this the speaker cable I should get? DAC SPK20 AWG OFC Dual Speaker Cable

And these gold banana plugs, should I get them too? I am guessing they terminate from the speakers to the Amp, 2 for each, so that makes it 4 in total that I should get. Yes?

That is the speaker cable you need. Get 16AWG or 18AWG. The lower the AWG, better the cable. I'm using AWG18.

Banana Plugs are not important. They are useful only if you remove the cables frequently. Bare connection gives the best contact. If you need banana plugs then mx branded are available much cheaper.

Hey, so I ended up ordering the stuff before I saw this message of yours. No sad face though, the banana plugs came soldered with the cables and they were just awesome to plug in! :yahoo:

Now, everything works the way it should. Thank you baijuxavior!
