The Russian Republic of Chechnya recently banned Russian dance music deemed either too fast or too slow, in a bizarre attempt to fight the Western “pollution” of its conservative values.

This place is going to full of metronomes!

Going by that logic they should have done that for cars too. They must have banned Fast and Furious too :)

A strange compulsion indeed.
 
is not the first country – nor will it be the last – to ban music for various reasons. Afghanistan have all banned songs, bands and artists for myriad reasons, ranging from inappropriate language to outright propaganda.
 
What’s particularly interesting is that the ruling dispensation in Chechnya has used objective measurements to ban some music
