Importing Subwoofers

It will be around 77% on the invoice if you are bringing on your name or if they have doubt over the invoice pricing customs may ask for the local catalogue with pricing from the place where you are shipping from.

Oh damn! That's a lot. Thanks for your response though :)

Hey Everyone - I was wondering if any of you have experience in importing subwoofers? If yes, how bad was the customs duty?

I was looking at the RSL subs and they ship internationally - https://rslspeakers.com/products/the-speedwoofer-12s/?attribute_pa_color=black-matte
Its not a good idea to import, since the customs duty + gst will be high. Add logistics + miscellaneous expenses if clearing agent's services are engaged. You may end up paying the price for 2 subs.
There is a possibility that the warranty too may not be honoured by the dealers here since it was not bought from them.
It's prudent to buy from here.

Yeah, that makes sense! Thanks for your inputs :)

check out my thread https://www.hifivision.com/threads/subwoofer-in-the-check-in-bag-how.95424/

I have done much research and asked many experienced people, including hifi companies. Importing hifi components is not worth it in India. In the end, we should spend the same amount of money as here in India. Hand-carrying is the best way. still a huge subwoofer like 12s, I don't know. but 10s is possible; I also have an eye on 10s.

Oh, I've definitely been through your thread :)

Wish RSL sold their subs here. I've emailed them anyways.

I think RSL is not even selling in Europe. They are only selling through their website, and 12s and 10s are always out of stock, and only the new version 10e is available.

Ah okay! Hope we get access to better subs at better prices some day :)
