Hi Friends,

Can u plz suggest me a 1 TB External HARD Drive to Store and Stream Movies. There are lot of 1TB Hard drives ( like the Seagate FreeAgent Goflex Home Network External Drive, Western Digital My Book Live 1 TB, External etc) with different features and i am confused which one to go for.

BASIC Requirement - 1) Must stream movies
2) Atleast one USB 3.0 Interface
3) One Network Port
4) ( Preferably not to have a separate power Supply - Optional)

Any other additional features are welcome.

Hi Sreejith,

i have been using both seagate, western digital for media streaming and they are fine.
Recently bought a portable buffalo station with capacity of 500 gb.
Trying to get a hard drive in excess of 500 gb without power options might not be easy and they get expensive as well.
Most of them are now usb 3 interface.
Hard drives are usually prone to failure and there is no guarantee of not dying,so u can take chance with any of the brands that you have mentioned.

If portability is not a must better get a powered 3.5 inch version rather than slim 2.5 inch ones. And yes, lower the capacity lower is the risk of loss due to failures
