Hi All, I know this question has been asked here before but I would just like some valutation before going ahead with the purchase. I have myself a 110V yamaha rx-v673 from the U.S. I would like to use it in India. Would this transformer suffice? Thanks!! :)

If I were you I will not think of Importing a Transformer. (Weight and Cost factors)

Cheaper and equally good transformers are available in India.

Also what is the power rating of the AVR? I feel an Indian make 1.5 KVA - Isolation Transformer would be a better option.

The transformer that you are buying is rated for 1 KVA and it can very well power your RX-v673. You can get a similar one in India itself.

Thanks for the reply..The only reason I am getting this particular transformer is because I can get it for free :D and I can just bring it with me in the plane.....How much do you guys think an isolation transformer would cost in India? (say around 1-1.5KVA)

According to the manual, the power consumption is 400W/500VA..:)

OK if you you are getting it free nothing beats it - despite the weight :)

I am not sure of the prices - I guess a 1KVA Isolation Transformer should be around 7k +, regular step down around 4 K

Purchase the Audiolab 6000A Integrated Amplifier at a special offer price.
