Hi
I have 42inch led tv and I want audio output from tv to my 4.1 speakers by playing movies from tv. Will this cable solve my problem or should I go for digital to analog audio converter with 3.5mm jack option.

This is much cheaper than that device.

Please advice

Nipun that cable won't solve your issue. The signal will be digital which your 4.1 will not be decode.
If your tv has only optical output, best option is to get a dac.

Also I have STB connected via HDMI. Will I get sound output if im using the converter in the link I provided in my last post of eBay

Is there optical output in the TV? If so optical to analog converter can be used. Check for FiiO brand converter. It will be much better in terms of audio quality.

I have heard that this will not work since it will not b able to decode... if this works then its a cheaper bet... pls someone confirm this do that I dont end up paying more
Nipun, the suggestion was for ashzi29, pls check my post. Your TV has optical out and you wish to connect it to 4.1 speaker set. First of all your existing 4.1 speaker set up is active or passive? Can you specify the model no. If the speakers are passive, an entry level new/used AV receiver depending upon your requirements and budget can be a better solution than the ebay converter.

Im using creative 4.1 speakers. Its 4 speakers r connected to d woofer via l/r type audio sockets. And then I connect d woofer to my comp via two 3.5mm jacks.I.e.l and r. I dont have much technical knowledge in this field. Hope you understand what I speak. I dont know model no of speakers as I had purchased around 7 years back

You don't need to use optical out of your TV to enjoy the speakers you have. You can take analog out form your TV ( RCA Audio Out) and connect them to 3.5 mm jack on your creative speaker set through a cable like this,
2 RCA Male to 3.5mm Stereo Female Audio Adapter Cable | eBay

1 RCA Male to 2 RCA Female Splitter 2RCA - Qty - 1pc | eBay

If you wish to power all 4 satellites, then first put 2 nos of adapter (at sr no 2) for L & R channel of audio out from your TV, and use 2 nos of cable (at serial no 1) to power all four channels.
But you won't get any true surround effects for sound delivered from set top box to your TV through HDMI. This arrangement will merely be 2 channel audio feed into 4 speakers.
