Hi,

Right now lots of 3D scams happening around, I just replaced my 50" LCD to 50" 3D Plasma.

So just because of 3D, from past 1.5yrs our systems are becoming absolute.
Every equipment/cable/accessories is 3D ready.

Yesterday I noticed a HDMI cable in a mall, on which a 3D ready sticker was putup. This shows when the cable was manufactured, they did not had the 3D concept and now to sell they need to exhibit 3D.

My question is -
A AVR without 3D ready can play the 3D content?
What could be the major difference?
Or how do we convert this to 3D?

In one of the website i read -
Option #1: Connect a HDMI cable directly from your Blu-ray player to your 3DTV for video. Next, connect an S/PDIF (optical cable) from your TV to your AVR for audio. You may need to adjust your AVRs audio delay feature and/or upgrade AVR firmware to correct for lip sync errors.

Option #2: Connect a HDMI cable directly from your Blu-ray player to your 3DTV for video. Next, connect an S/PDIF (optical cable) from your Blu-ray player to your AVR. You may need to adjust your AVR's audio delay feature and/or upgrade AVR firmware to correct for lip sync errors.

Option #3: Use an 1.4 HDMI splitter (when available) to connect to both your AVR and 3DTV.

You will have to resort to option 3 here if you want both 3D Video as well as Hd Audio. Otherwise buy yourself a Blu ray player with twin HDMI so that you can do as suggested above.

By the way everything changes fast around you. Look at the phones we use ... you had the telephone booth -> land phone -> mobile phone -> color phones -> touch phones ...

I have watched a B/W TV with 200 people on a hall ... now i have 4/5 color screens I own ... So yes things become obsolete ... So it is upto you to decide if you need to upgrade whenever each new generation product comes out.

I myself bought a non-3D TV a year back, I still think 3D technology is not mature enough to be watched daily at home. Except for avatar i do not like any of the 3D movies even in theater.
