i bought LG 475800 3D tv. i am playing 3D SBS (Side by Side) movies using External Hard Drive. 3D quality is very good but smoothness is not good. i tried to play from my laptop connected by HDMI cable but same result. is it because movie is in big size. the movie size is around 8 - 10 gb. can anyone suggest what should i do for getting smooth picture quality.
thanks

Movie size should not matter. Is it a 3D content ? I presume you are doing a 2d->3d conversion using side-by-side(a phase difference between the two pictures is made to give a sense of depth).
You can try a maximum setting of motion processing.I am not sure if increasing of this setting is allowed in SBS mode.

What exactly do you mean by smoothness?
Is it jerky playback of the video or the fast motion scenes are not continuous?

Did you try playback of 3d Bluray and other SBS files?

Which s/w player are you using while playback using laptop?

What happens if you play using Laptop and with stereoscopic player.
Try to play the SBS file using this player and set Viewing method as monoscopic. You shouldnt get 3d but check if the video playback is better.

Answer the questions to better understand your problem.

yes it is 3D content 100%, i am not converting 2d to 3d.

smoothness means if there is a fast movement scene like fighting or dance, then there is little late motion movement. it is not continuous. i have not tried any blueray but i have tried lots of SBS files in mkv format. i am using VLC player and xbmc. i will give try of stereoscopic tomorow.

the motion lag is sometime a fault of dvd blu reay recordsings.....even in an original blu ray....they are not a fault of a tv.
so dont worry, the particuler scene you are being disatisfied may be a recording fault...
yes as per lcd and plasma motion handling capacity some scenes can be handled by plasmas or higher model leds better........

Considering that LM5800 is a 120Hz unit, I find it a bit bewildering as ideally it should have a more than decent response time. As Prosenjit mentioned, it might be an issue with that media's processing quality. If you're downloading files from the web, check the processing specs and also try from a different source to clarify the source of this issue.
