5.1 content on a 5.1.2 setup

Hi dear FMs, I have a doubt regarding sound output from an avr when playing 5.1 content on speakers setup for a 5.1.2 config.

What happens to the atmos speakers (.2)? Do they run in a 7.1 config in the absence of atmos content?

What happens to the atmos speakers (.2)?

No content sent to them, unless your AVR/processor is configured to use the Dolby Surround Upmixer for non-Atmos content.
