Even I'm looking for similar package and I'm more inclined towards Edifier S550 (only based on the reviews).

is there any dealer for Edifier in chennai?

How about Asus Xonar D2X soundcard + Edifier S550 combo? I'm planning for this combo

Yep there is a dealer for edifier in Chennai. i have once called him to ask about the rate of the edifier da5000 pro speakers.
i had his number with me, but its in my home. Anyway you can contact the edifier office at Mumbai and they will give you the Chennai dealers number.

Alternatively you can also try online shops like infibeam, bitfang etc for edifier speakers. they provide good discounts too.

Also, Z5500 has been discontinued....they have announced the successor Z906.

the announcement was made long back however this comes with a changed amp and will not be able to deliver what z-5500 gave..

z-5500 was purely made for quality propestive.. yes it might not be the proper HT solution but is good indeed...

haven't heard 906 though..
