5.1 help

hi all,
kindly help me on this.. i have a LG DV456 dvd player.. can i connect a 5.1 decoder to this via coaxial o/p cable so that I get 5.1 sound with my (old)philips 5.1 speaker system? (for some reasons i am unable to get full 5.1 o/p from the player, ie centre and s/w are not working.. :sad:
i want to buy this decoder so that I can connect my HD DTH STB also to the 5.1 speaker...
please help

It would be better to go for a pre owned AVR which fits your budget and enjoy the 5.1 effects.....see the For Sale by Owner section or HiFiAds if there are any available AVRs which may appeal to you....

im afraid u mean to say that the 5.1 decoder available won't work with it..?:sad:
