Hi all

Posting after a long time!

Just wanted to let you know that Pandu in Mumbai has a lot of around 60 or so hindi vinyl records, first pressing on Angel, etc. Since I am not so much interested I thought I would pass on the info here. His number is 96198 16225. He is asking 10k for the whole lot, not willing to split it up. Seems pretty worth it to me!

PS - I am not affiliated to the seller.

Happened to visit these insanely priced Vinyl records in indianvinylrecords.com and nigh.co.in even for mediocre album with 85-90% condition. Even I saw a Tamil film LP priced at 5K which I would not even think of getting that album unless it is from a friend giving at no cost. Seeing Such a pricing even for EP/LP with 85% condition, I really wonder about these guys way of thinking about the vinyl buyers.

Vinylworld.in is a much much better store and sincerely believe that the guy/ guys in vinylworld.in are really have the passion for the vinyl and not for just doing business. Their pricing of a same title in comparison with ngh.co.in speaks about them.

Few months back there was a news snippet about Delhi Record shop on WION channel. They claimed to have 2,00,000 titles in stock. A typical 1'x1'x1' sqaure will hold around 90/95 vinyls. For the claimed nos. it will need approx 2100 cu. sq. ft. If a typical wall of 9'x10' is considered it will hold around 8500 records. If 4 racks are kept in a room with aisle to move around it will need 5 such rooms.

...A little trivia and fun info to start the day

Regards.

Though claims of 2 lakh records sound exaggerated credit should be given for keeping tradition alive. Lets see what future holds for this medium in India.
Regards.

Yes, though they have a huge collection, prices are really steep(upwards) for even a LPs at 85-90% condition. I always wonder what would be that 10 -15% condition stands for :)
Rgds.
