Hey Guys,

After a research & buying process spanning 5months I have finally purchased my entire home theatre set up which includes:

Denon 2113
Epson HD 3D TW550 projector
Sonodyne 5.1 (floorstanders with Avant CS)

I would firstly like to thank Prosenjit who is a forum member here who has been my friend philosopher & guide in motivating me to migrate from a 32inch Hitachi to a 110' liberty !!! Of course various other forum members have cleared several doubts of mine for which I am very grateful.

It was smooth sailing in the begining when I started off by purchasing the Sonodyne 5.1 set during the 26th Jan SALE period wherein I got a flat 26% discount. The speakers were lying for three months as my room as getting prepared. I had two rooms which was remodelled into one big room to accomodate the whole setup.

The choice for AVR was between the Denon 2113 & th Yamaha 673. I opted for the Denon for 2 simple reasons: 1) No demo was possible for 673 & (2) ProFx gave me a very good 0% interest & processing charge offer from Baja Finance, which I couldn't refuse.

For the Projector I had fixd a budget of 50grands & as luck would have it, Epson launched the 550 at this juncture. At this price getting HD & 3D seemed too good to be true (mind you its not 1080, but 720p). I made the booking in March end & then the sorrows started. I was told the pj is out of stock & Epson is not supplying it. The I was told of the price hike but I insisted that since I had booked it initially I should be insulated of the hike.
Eventually after a moth & a half of followup & escalation I got it delivered last week.

Now my set up is complete. I will soon be putting up the pictures. It is indeed a huge step forward for me, both financially as well as convincing my family that its a wise decision.

BTW my old PS3 was exchanged for a brand new 3d enabled 500gb PS3. So all that is left are the 3D glasses. Hope someone can get me a good deal for it. I will keep posting in this thread.

Once again many thanks to one & all who helped me in this process.

Cheers

Many congrats on the setup.....Do post pictures....

So you have a complete Sonodyne Avant HT system (or) just Avant Center channel speaker alone...

Thanks buddy...I just have the Avant centre speaker

Avant LCR 250 is a brilliant speaker i have come across for 15K, superb dialog clarity even @ low volumes...... I actually wanted to own the entire Avant HT setup within a week of buying Sonus Product range..But unfortunately couldn't....

You will be thrilled by watching movies, actually would be stunned by the performance of Avant LCR250...Good luck...

What is your remaining 4.1 setup ? Sonus...

Yea you are very right. My speakers are a long way from breaking in & already Im getting a feel of how an audiophile feels just by 'touhcing its surface' as far as db goes. Before buying the AVR I had actually carried around my AVant CS to audition in showrooms & I was blown to bits by its performance. We had swicthed off all other speakers to hear only from the Avant CS. It seemed as if just 1 CS was enough to watch the movie in sheer delight to the ears.

Anyways I have the Sonus floorstanders range with rear diapoles.

Satisfaction is the ultimate thing here...You have felt that..:clapping:

I too felt the same when i brought the Avant LCR 250 for home demo.....

i was also present in the demo and i had a hard time to profx guys to make the point clear that we only need to hear the centre...
they were very reluctant to play only the cenytre..god knows why

anyway only the avant centre played..and amazing it was with denon 2113...just add a sub and this centre only without fronts/rears is quite satisfying for cinema i felt

One of the reason that why Avant LCR 250 is so good could be because of the cabinet material (Die-Cast aluminium) which is supposed to be the best material for speaker cabinet also the crossover & high quality drivers....

Me too planned for an Avant HT system in the near future...If all goes well....:)

Elangoas,

Your signature needs one more change- trust me on this. Prosenjit convinced me & today I am a very very satisfied man. Opt for a projector, you will forget how a tv looks like...pair it up with the Avant HT system & you will be on the moon :)
