Whats your budget? Does your amp have a Sub out or would you need speaker input/output on the sub along with a crossover?

Hi

At my moms place i use a Marantz PM series amp and the Dali Z3.....there is no requirement of sub as it sounds good enough.....the Dali Z3 is mounted on a Swivel TV stand and more at a height....the sound is good enough.........so is the bass....Dalis are very placement specific......

If you still need to go for a sub....Look at the BIC America owners thread....you will get first hand info and feedback on their subs....

There are also other subs like SunFire, Taga, Wharfedale, etc which are there...it all depends on how much low freq (closer to 20hz) you want in the bass output

Hi

Sub125 is an 8 inch compact sub....goes as low as 35hz.....neat but not sure if that freq meets your expectations.....

How much has he quoted?

You would be better off with a BIC F12 or PL 200 which can go as low as 23/24hz....12 inch sub...both have high and low level inputs....

Hi aldom,

You should spend considerable amount of time reading reviews about the subwoofers and going for multiple audition to get the idea of how a sub would sound. Every dealer would suggest you a sub-woofer that would have impressed them or in stock but need not impress you.

So take time, review every sub-woofer, understand its concepts and terminologies, compare products, read reviews, if you aren't familiar before. Most of the time, a buyer takes at least a month or two to see various sub woofer and finally settles down with one, even two.

Don't just follow what the dealer suggests you. Audition as much as possible and decide. If you have questions, please ask; we are here to help you.

PSB subseries 125 for 42K.

Another dealer recommended Dali sub E9f for the E12f since speakers are also of dali.

E9f - 40k
E12 - 50K

Subwoofer need not be matched with your other speakers as sub is for LFE.
There are many other options in that budget. Taking the demo of few will help to zero in fast.

Honestly, the PL 200 (BIC America) is within reach of 40k...includes delivery....check with ProAudiohome or sayhifi etc....

PL 200 is a very good budget sub woofer packed with a 250 RMS sub woofer, BASH amplifier, includes long period warranty.

From the ownership stand point, it is value for money. Take an audition and decide.

Hope its good for music listening in a small room. Any ways will find a dealer for audition.
