My brother is setting up a retail showroom of interior stuff. Wanted advice on the speakers and AMP to go for. Setup is for playing music.
Showroom comprises two floors : Ground floor : 700 Sq feet . 1st floor : 900 Sq Feet. In both cases ceiling ht is 10.5 sq feet.

Audiophile speakers is not a requirement . Goal is to keep budget within Rs 60-70K. Moreover would like one AMP for both floors .

Need options on the speakers and AMP for the above.

Thanks.

Modsy, what you need are ceiling speakers from companies such as Sonodyne or Philips. Alternatively you can use Bose type satellite speakers that can be hung very near the ceiling with a sub placed unobtrusively some where.

In terms of an amp, you have to look for professional amps that can drive 8 speakers or more. I think DNM make such amps, though there are companies such as Ahuja. I always found Ahuja to be very harsh.

If your brother is ready to spend a little money, I am sure Rajiv of Lithos would be happy to execute the whole project.

Cheers

Inwall and inceiling speakers - which means wiring has to be done well in advance to ensuring the proper connectivity. I would also suggest an amp with a receiver to drive the speakers as an AVR or integrated wont be able to drive them all. its a bit of work but not complicated at a. Best is to use some DSP such as 7 channel stereo so all speakers output the exact same.
