Advice regarding soundbar / home theatre

I have a low budget tv (sanyo nxt xt-43s7200f). Not sure if it supports an HDMI arc. There is no optical output. Can i use a soundbar with Hdmi arc and connect to tv (tv doesn't have arc). Or do I need to connect a AV receiver to get a 5.1 effect?

Note; I use amazon fire tv stick connected to tv

What input and output connections does your soundbar have?

If your source for 5.1 audio is your amazon fire tv stick connected to your tv, I cannot think of a way you can get that to your sound bar if your tv does not support digital (optical or coaxial) audio output.

I haven't bought the soundbar yet. If yes, I suppose It should have a hdmi in so I can plug in the fire tv stick. I am currently more inclined towards buying a home theatre system
