Hi All,

I am about to choose a DTH provider, right now confused between Airtel Digital and Tata Sky.

In Tata Sky I've to pay Rs 340 monthly for all my preferred channels

In Airtel Digital, I only have to pay Rs 275 for almost same channels.

How is Airtel PQ, services etc in comparison with Tata Sky?

Please advise

You will find that TS has a much superior customer support. Further do go for a HD enabled stb.

for normal tata sky, i am paying Rs.550 per month.
Still I don't get all the channels. I am switching over to HD shortly.

pl. better opt for hd dth connection, if you have a hd tv.

regards

Tata Sky's Annual Mega Pack is for Rs.6000/- which includes all channels except Topper. So that comes to Rs.500/- per month. Why are you paying 550 and still not getting all channels?

Plus, if you don't want south Indian channels, there is a Mega Lite Pack for Rs.5500/- for the year.

If you are north indian then Tatasky makes sense. For South indian tata sky is not recommended since it has very less regional channels.

Quality and customer care wise Tatasky is better than Airtel. Of course You will be paying more for TS. If you are going for HD TS has more hd channels right now.
If you can little bit compromise on Customer car and sometime quality drops ..and prefering cheaper then Airtel is for you.

I had airtel ..i just threw it out of my window & took tatasky+hd...had amazing exerince of watching TV on LCD..belive me Airtel CC is one of the big reason to not to go for it

i second that... have 3 connections of Airtel and cry every day...will be chaging very very soon to TS HD

I am about to throw away Airtel DTH which I am using from last one year thanks to its customer care. My DTH is not working from last 1 week and I have made around 100 calls to CC. still problem not resolved.
Picture quality wise I think airtel and tatasky are comparable, but Airtel customer care is pathetic. Heard lots of praises about TATA SKY going for it.

Don't throw it away. See whether there is a way to keep it alive. After all who knows Airtel might improve after some time.

I too am trying to figure out ways to keep alive my DishTV HD. I was not satisfied with DishTV HD on several issues and have switched to TataSky HD recently. So far haven't figured out a way to do that without paying extra money.

you can keep you airtel on hold for 3 months without recharging. so if you can do that with airtel then i am very sure you can do with all others

You can keep your airtel connection in safe custody for 3 months, no charges. Call up customer care and say your TV is faulty or going abroad , would like to keep this in safe custody...

So you paying monthly subscription for DishTv, even though you not using the service?
I just got the DishTv HD activated today and found that it talks about having 30+ HD channels but most are upscaled, still better than SD channels though. But whats sad is that it doesnt have StarMovies, StarGold and StarWorld in HD, which are already available in true HD on other services:mad:

I bought Tata Sky HD
Do share about its PQ quality on non HD channels.

For now I am not paying them. My subscription is in a temporarily disabled state. Unfortunately several rounds of emails to customer care hasn't clarified how much I need to pay to see Movies Now and Travel XP, which I don't get as of now on Tata Sky HD. I am not paying Rs. 450 per month for sure, even if means a permanent disconnection.

If I understand DTH terms and conditions correctly, you can return your DishTV HD within 1 month or so and get a refund if you aren't satisfied with their HD service. While this is by law, actually getting it done is going to be one difficult job.
